Utsav- a Celebration of Joy
'Utsav' - Annual Field Display of Classes Nursery to II. 6th February 07

Nine hundred students from Classes Nursery to II of the Junior Wing, DPS Noida presented a colourful and musical field display 'Utsav - A celebration of joy' on 3rd February 2007 in the school grounds.

Aimed at expressing joy in its different forms, the programme showcased an array of dance forms, complete with tableaus from different parts of the country. The young ones in their colourful costumes put up a commendable performance. The other events comprised the umbrella drill, the pom - pom drill, aerobics, cycling, skating and horse-riding. A spectacular grand finale completed the show.

The concept and costumes were the brainchild of the Head Mistress, Mrs. Reema Dewan. The show was choreographed by Mr. Biltu Sarkar and other teachers of the dance department.

The Principal, Mrs. Nina Sehgal gave the welcome address. The Chief Guest for the show was Chairman DPS Society, Mr. Ashok Chandra and the Guest of Honour was Mr. Jyoti Kalash, Director school education. In his address, Mr. Ashok Chandra lauded the young students on the confidence and joy that they displayed during the performance.

Investiture Ceremony
The Investiture ceremony of the Junior Wing DPS Noida was conducted on 25th September '06. The ceremony inducted the Students Council for the current academic session. The swearing-in ceremony was conducted after a brief cultural programme comprising an inspirational song by the school choir, a raga by the school orchestra, a tribal dance and a flamenco dance. Lakshmi Saraf and Samridh Rawat were sworn in as the Girl Captain and Boy Captain respectively.

The Principal, Mrs. Nina Sehgal gave the welcome address. The Chief Guest, Mr. Pramod Grover and Chairman DPSS, Mr. Ashok Chandra administrated the oath to all the members of the Student Council and pinned their badges.

Mr. Pramod Grover felicitated the members of the Council on their accomplishment and encouraged them to carry out their duties in the truest spirit. Chairman, Mr. Ashok Chandra stated that members of Student Council had a tremendous responsibility and had to learn to be true leaders and role models for their peers.

Annual Production 'Ganga'

The Annual production 'Ganga' was staged on August 31st and September 1st '06. It was a grand production involving 200 students and was greatly appreciated by all eminent guests, particularly the Chairman Shri. Ashok Chandra. The ballet depicted the spirit of the Ganga that epitomises purity, continuity and eternity.

Jhankar'
A music, art and dance festival was organized in the month of May '06. Spread over four days the festival included a range of Inter-house & Inter-school Competitions. The Inter-school Competitions invited an enthusiastic response from a host of Noida and Delhi. DPS Vasant Kunj won the overall Trophy for best performance.
Rang De Basanti
A special assembly to celebrate the Independence Day and Janmashtami was staged exclusively by the students of Class Prep, on the 8th August 2006. The sprit of patriotism was ignited in the heart of every proud parent present in the hall by the enactment of "Rang De Basanti" - a music and dance extravaganza
Independence Day Celebrations
Independence Day was Celebrated in the Junior Wing with great patriotic fervour. The children actively participated to spread the message of love and oneness. The students through their performance made us feel proud of being an Indian.
Splash Pool Party
In order to build on their fascination for water, the children of classes Nursery, Prep & I were invited to beat the heat with a dip in the Splash Pool. The children played water games, enjoyed a mango party and had a great time.
Seed Germination Day
Seeds were planted by the children in their bowls and watered daily. They learnt the importance of water and sunlight besides being initiated into Environment Conservation.
Grand Parents Day -
To show their love and respect towards their grandparents, the Nursery Children celebrated 'Grandparents Day' on 18th August 06. They welcomed their Grandparents by singing "come inside and welcome too. We were waiting just for you". There was mass participation and the performance left tears in the eyes of every grandparent present.
Lemonade Party
To tickle their taste buds and have some collective fun the children of Class Prep organized a lemonade party, on August 24th '06.
Healthy Breakfast Day
After the summer break the children of Class Prep returned to school rejuvenated and energized. In keeping with the theme of the month a "Healthy Breakfast Day" was organized by the Class Prep on the 13th of July '06
